10.00am Toddler Spring Trail, Selsey

1 mile, 1.5 hours

Not only is this a good way for young ones to get fresh air and some exercise but an ideal opportunity for adults to have a good natter. Led by staff from the Selsey Children and Family Centre.

This walk is aimed at families with children aged 0-5, and is a toddler/buggy friendly walk with a treasure trail game to find objects along the way. The walk will end with a picnic (there will be some food provided, but feel free to bring your own favourites) and a play with some toys.

2.00pm Nordic Walking Taster Session

A very popular event last year. There are a lot of claims made about the advantages of Nordic Walking and those that have discovered this technique sing its praises.

This is A taster session led by a Nordic Walking UK instructor around the small pond at East Beach Car Park. Discover the many advantages of Nordic walking which includes lessening impact on joints, burning 20 – 40% more calories than walking, easy to learn, sociable and fun! Pre booking essential as a limited amount of poles are available to lend out.

2.00pm A “Scoot” Around East Beach

2 miles, 1.5 hours

This is another new event for us and is aimed at mobility scooter users. An exploration of the sights and sounds of East Beach Selsey, using the arts to enhance the experience. The walk will finish with tea and biscuits at the Lifeboat Station.

£4.00 per scooter (cost includes refreshments). Booking is essential and limited to 10 scooters accompanied by an able bodied friend.

6.00pm All Aboard!

3 miles, 2 hours

The well loved railway carriage homes can be seen in Selsey but why are they here and who was responsible for them. Their history has been research by a local historian who will explain all.

Explore the East Beach area of Selsey to find out why so many railway carriages arrived here in the 1920s, identify them today and hear about their history.

A leaflet will be provided for those who wish to research this fascinating story further.
