9.00am Mindful Walking

1 mile (approx. 50 mins walking time)

In this event walking on an expanse of beach at low tide is accompanied by an audio guide. The guide consists of a series of suggestions and invitations to enhance your participation, in addition to some short pieces of music and spoken word. We hope that this guide will pique your interest and bring a sense of freshness and curiosity to the experience of the body and walking in an inter-tidal space. Please join us afterwards for a hot drink and a pastry and to share any experiences of the walk at 10:30am at The Coast Yard, Selsey PO20 0LX.

We are keen to make this event as inclusive as possible and it is open to all. The walking itself is gentle overall and you are actively encouraged to choose the way in which you participate in the walk to accommodate your body as it is on that day, and in that moment. Walking, standing, and some brief periods of sitting and lying down will be on a mostly sandy beach although there is usually a short but fairly steep bank of shingle to negotiate to get down to the beach itself. Please wear clothing appropriate for these activities and for the weather on the day.

The event is restricted to 20 places. MP3 players with headphones and pre-loaded with the audio guide and ready for use are supplied on the day.

Meet at Marine Gardens car park, Hillfield Road, Selsey
